What’s your name and role at Financeit?
My name is Belle Cormier, and I’m the Office Facility Manager at Financeit.
When did you start working here?
I became a member of the Financeit team in January 2023.
What’s your day-to-day like?
While many of my tasks are the same day-to-day, no two days are exactly alike. I manage activities in our facilities to ensure the smooth running of the office, ensuring kitchenettes, workstations, and meeting rooms are in working condition. I perform a wide range of tasks that include managerial administrative duties, such as vendor invoice submissions, ordering office supplies and ensuring inventory is up to date, and taking care of weekly snacks and catering as required. Another vital part of my role is to coordinate and lead logistical changes to the office, maintain the office condition, and work with building management on office maintenance and repairs. There are many facets to my role, which makes it fun and rewarding.
How does your role contribute to Financeit’s work culture?
I assist the Events Manager with larger company events such as the Holiday Party, Quarterly Cinq-à-Septs, and milestone events. I collaborate with other departments to coordinate and manage employee engagement activities, including swag management, events celebrating FIT kids, and other employee experience activities such as yoga days and breathwork sessions.
What are some of the events you organize that employees like the most?
Financeit has a variety of employee engagement initiatives that I help organize, but I would have to say our quarterly staff parties are what employees look forward to the most. Our “Cinq-à-Sept” events are a lot of fun to plan and execute. We’ve held Sunset Summer Parties with live band karaoke, Halloween Costume Parties, and a Winter Wonderland Holiday Party. I think the staff also really enjoy our monthly game nights. We bring in pizza, wings, and beer for an evening of friendly competition with Pub-Style Trivia, Family Feud, Charades, and Murder Mystery games.
What do you love the most about your job at Financeit?
What I love most about working at Financeit are the people and the company culture. Everyone here is genuinely collaborative and helpful. We have such an amazing company culture that I have never experienced in any organization over my twenty-plus-year career. I love how I get to interact with every single person that works for the company, and I also love the variety of tasks my job requires, from operations to logistics and everything in between. I wake up every morning excited to come into the office, and we have a beautiful office in which to work.
